Open Alpaca Barn

Take a break from the Memorial Day winery tours to meet the colorful alpacas of EasyGo Farm and Alpacas of Oregon. The Open Barn is located in Sherwood, Oregon, just off Hwy 99, in the midst of wine country.
Hand feed alpacas, get your hands on their soft fleece, and watch fiber demos. The Barn Store will be stocked with teddy bears, sweaters, scarves, & other alpaca products, many hand-crafted.
Hand-spinners, knitters, & other fiber artists will find fleece and yarn. Bring your camera and get a shot of the alpaca who provided the raw material for your next project.

The perfect way to start sewing -- or to get back into it! Learn techniques for sewing French Seams, Elastic smocking, lace appliqué, sewing with the bobbin thread, using the feed dogs to ease as well as gathering and ruffling feet. In a French seam, the raw edges of the fabric are fully enclosed for a neat finish. Machine smocking is a technique used to gather fabric so that it can stretch. Appliqué involves pieces of fabric, embroidery, or other materials which are sewn onto another piece of fabric to create designs, patterns or pictures. Learn all this and so much more!
