An annual Portland experience, the Rose City Yarn Crawl is a four-day event for knitters to explore the many knitting Shops in and around Portland. 2012 marks our third year of celebrating Portland as a yarn and knitting destination.

Join us from 10 am to 6 pm on March 1st – 4th for your chance to win one of 20 Prize Baskets and explore all nineteen participating Shops. In addition to offering the chance to win a prize basket, each shop will also offer Rose City Yarn Crawl participants a special free pattern inspired by the City of Roses.

By popular request (from adults watching kids at School’s Out, SCRAP’s In make awesome projects), SCRAP is offering all ages workshops! Participants 12 and over may attend on their own, while kids 11 and younger may attend with a grown-up participant. Classes are one hour and will include an introduction to SCRAP as a resource, as well as all the materials needed to make the project at hand.

Cost: $5 per person ($4.50 for SCRAP members)

This crystal cuff can be made using vibrant colors, or in stunning clear & white to resemble a diamond masterpiece. A lovely way to learn netting & embellishing stitches. Some beading experience is helpful, but this class is OK for beginners.

Learn how to make a woven wire piece for use in bracelets, necklaces, and whatever your creative mind can think of! Gwen will patiently teach you the weave technique using a dowel and small gauge wire. Nice end caps, findings and beads can be added to give your finished piece a beautiful professional look.

People's Holiday Craft Fair and Farmers' Market

Your one stop shop just got a whole lot sweeter! With farmers and crafters in the courtyard and more crafters in the community room, People's will be the place to be get your shopping done. There will be a yarn spinning demo, hot apple cider, and tasty treats to enjoy and keep you warm.

Come in and sew with other stitchers in our community. Bring your own project and any questions you may have.

Breedom Public Sewing House will provide the machines (but feel free to bring your own if you’d like), tools, and work space!

There will be someone there to help you through your project if you need it but this is a great opportunity to learn from others.

For the hand sewers, cross stitchers, knitters, and crochters… we’ve got a great back patio to sit out on and enjoy the sunshine.

Feel free to bring any snacks or drinks you’d like.
