SCRAP would like to invite you to the opening reception of the Re:Vision Gallery's Group Fiber Show. Join us Friday July 8 from 5:30-7:30pm for food, wine and a survey of contemporary re-use fiber arts in the Pacific Northwest. The Group Fibers Show encompasses fibers as defined by 12 Portland area artists using reclaimed materials ranging from vegetable twist ties to blankets to tea bags to create new works in the category of fiber arts. Exhibit runs through August 25.

Eleanor Williams’ and Eleanor Ray’s joint show at Re:Vision Gallery explores themes of personal and group storytelling in a wider cultural context. Their visual language goes up, under and through our aesthetic expectations, resulting in thoughtful, engaging work that combines references to deep cultural symbols with unexpected twists that pop.

Love runs the gamut from exaltation to devastation.
In this show a group of contemporary fiber artist will explore the many facets of love.

The Basil Hallward Gallery is pleased to present Portland artist Bijijoo, whose oil-painting series, The Presidential Ham, includes portraits of every U.S. president holding a ham. Attendees of the reception are encouraged to wear presidential costumes; hams and a photo booth will be provided thereat.

This month in the Basil Hallward Gallery, we're co-celebrating the Portland Mercury's 10th birthday by exhibiting posters of every cover since the beginning. (That's about 600 posters total!) Featured artists include Shepard Fairey, Mark Ryden, Shag, Nikki McClure, Jim Woodring, and countless other local and international superstars. Proceeds from sales of the posters will benefit the Independent Publishing Resource Center.

This is an art opening for our featured monthly artist, Sydney Wasser. Snacks, libations, and live music provided!
