Join us for a very hands on detail oriented class, Metal Jewelry Art, that is scheduled for June 22/23, a Saturday and Sunday, from 10 to 4 each day. Students will be taught how to work with metals by sawing, sanding, filing, stamping, hammering(forming/texturing). etching, riveting, and soldering. You will create a bezel and set your stone in the bezel.

Simple Felted Handbag
Make a simple and elegant felted handbag out of wool roving. You’ll learn how to use a plastic resist to felt a seamless vessel—no side sewing required! For beginners or those with some felting experience.

Holey Felt Scarf
This traditional feltmaking technique to creates a holey felt scarf—without using scissors. You will use just dyed wool roving, hot soapy water and the agitation of your hands to make a one-of-a-kind piece. After taking this workshop you will be armed with the skills to make many more on your own.

Using acrylic paint and painting knives, you'll create gorgeous landscapes from photos and/or from your imagination. We will listen to music, and relax as we experiment with with the magic of paint and dreams. We'll cover composition, simplifying, color mixing, palette knife techniques and more. All levels welcome. Combine technical skills and rule breaking to foster creativity -- learn to hem pants, adjust side seams for fit, add darts or elastic, adjust the armcye, insert a gusset and techniques for refashioning garments. "Paper Pattern Modification"

Learn to alter paper patterns to your measurements. Bring a paper pattern in your size to class and we will assist you in your pattern alterations. Learn techniques used to lengthen or shorten patterns as well as accommodate your unique proportions. Gain an understanding of grading lines and how to use them to your advantage and make simple fit and style changes. Bring preshrunk fabric with you and get assistance with layout and cutting.

"Decorative Finishing"

The perfect way to start sewing -- or to get back into it! Learn techniques for sewing French Seams, Elastic smocking, lace appliqué, sewing with the bobbin thread, using the feed dogs to ease as well as gathering and ruffling feet. In a French seam, the raw edges of the fabric are fully enclosed for a neat finish. Machine smocking is a technique used to gather fabric so that it can stretch. Appliqué involves pieces of fabric, embroidery, or other materials which are sewn onto another piece of fabric to create designs, patterns or pictures. Learn all this and so much more!

"Hand Sewing Fundamentals"

Make and take home your own needle wallet! Learn how the professionals sew on buttons as well as an assortment of basic hand stitches that will repair your clothes and give you a quality finish on your sewing projects. In this class we will teach you to sew a back-stitch, pick-stitch, slip-stitch, slanted hem stitch, uneven slip-stitch and the cross-stitch!

"Sewing with Commercial Patterns"

The goal of this class is to help you understand the information on the pattern envelope, pick the correct pattern in the proper size, select fabric and notions with confidence, and achieve success in sewing with commercial patterns.

In this class learn pattern terminology and what the information on and in the pattern envelope means- such as measurements and sizing, fabric suggestions and requirements, notions, fabric layout and a review of pattern markings and directions.
