Felting Soap

Sat, 12/10/2011 - 1:00pm - 3:00pm Ruth Beck Owner of Owl & Acorn Soaps + Gifts will be teaching this brand new class! Felting is an age-old natural process of agitating wool by hand with hot water and soap. Learn how to felt a beautiful and unique handmade bar of soap in this 2 hour long class, and leave with your own finished one-of-a-kind creation. All materials will be provided, including locally hand crafted soaps and hand dyed felting wool of many colors. Just bring your creativity! Ruth Beck is the Queen Crafter/Owner of Owl & Acorn Soaps + Gifts based out of her workshop in rural Oregon City. There, she hand crafts cold process soaps and other handmade gifts adjacent to her family’s sheep farm (Beck’s Farms) where wool is lovingly hand combed, carded & dyed to be used for felting & spinning. Ruth loves to share her passion for wool and all things soap related through teaching community education classes in the Clackamas & Metro areas, and is also involved in local craft markets & bazaars.
