Modern Stick Sculpture
Leader: Gina Kirkorian Ingam
Come work on your sculpture skills by making an abstract modern art piece out of simple materials! Using gauze and flexible materials, we will learn about using fabric as a sculptural medium. We will make base structures out of sticks, and wrap these pieces with fabric dipped in plaster. We will then sand down any imperfections and spray paint our creations. Almost like paper mache in essence, but more solid, these sculptures have a light airy feel. They look great suspended in mid-air, or set on a table as a centerpiece. They can hang on the wall, if your composition was fairly flat. A truly unique form of sculpture, and really fun to create!
For participants 16 and older.
Monday's August 6th & 20th from 6-8pm
All materials included!
