9-3 full day No School Art Studio: $50 per youth artist
Aftercare Options $5 per hour until 6pm
Ages 6-14 welcome ( groups are split up depending on age and skill levels)

A book isn't always a rectangle with white pages between two covers! Today we'll traverse the globe--and the centuries--to make storytelling structures from around the world. We'll craft Ethiopian Wishing Scrolls from Africa, string together Palm Leaf books from Southeast Asia, bind Girdle Books from Medieval Europe, and learn the secrets of the mysterious knotted quipu from ancient Peru. All are very special containers for words and stories, though they may not look anything like the books sitting on our shelves at home.
